Genealogy Packet

The Belnap Family Organization “Genealogy Packet” was a large collection of pedigree charts and family group sheets prepared by the Belnap Family Organization in the 1950s and 1960s.  Copies of the original version were filed with various Family History Libraries in Utah, Idaho, and California.  Information from the Packet was later digitized in some of the earliest genealogy computerization projects.  As a result, most all of the information that appeared in the Packet is available online through other sources such as FamilyTree.  In some instances, the Packet information has been superseded and may now be significantly out-of-date, disproven, or obsolete.  For historical reference purposes, a digital copy of the Packet will be made available here.

my great grandfather was Frank Drayton Belknap. He was married to my great grandmother Louise Belle Armor/Armour. they came from Ohio/Penna and moved to New York city in the 20’s. I am trying to find a connection with this Belknap family organization.

    • Dear Liza: Thank you for your message. You are DEFINITELY connected to this Belnap Family Organization. Frank Drayton Belknap (who resumed using the silent “k”) was the son of William Belnap, who was the son of Ira Belnap, who was the son of Jesse Belnap (1760-1854) and Eunice Hall (1762-1849). We are trying to locate all descendants of Jesse Belnap/Eunice Hall and would love to receive information on your Belknap/Belnap family line. Information can be sent to belnapfamily.org@gmail.com

I just found this website. My 3rd Great-Grandfather was Hiram D. Belnap. He was Gilbert’s brother. Hiram then had James Madison Belnap, who then had a daughter, Rella Gregory Belnap. Rella then married Jesse Rolland Wilson. They had 4 children, one of whom was my grandfather, Jesse Fay Wilson.

    • Thank you for your message. Actually, your Hiram Belnap was the uncle of Gilbert Belnap (1821-1899) and younger brother of Gilbert’s father, Rosel Belnap (1789-1832). We are trying to locate ALL descendants of Jesse Belnap (1760-1854), American Revolutionary War soldier, as we prepare to restore his headstone in North East, Erie County, PA and commemorate his military service in helping build the “Great Chain” at West Point, north of New York City. A special event is scheduled for 27 Jun 2026. We would love to obtain further genealogical information on Hiram’s descendants, as well as contact info on living descendants to inform them about this special event.
