Aaron Charles Carter (1987-2022), a former child pop singer and younger brother of Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter, died on 5 November 2022 at age 34. He was found dead in his bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California. Authorities gave no information about a possible cause of death. He was survived by an 11-month-old son, Prince Carter. Aaron first found fame as a young boy with pop songs like “I Want Candy” and “Crush on You.” His debut studio album, “Aaron Carter,” was released in 1997 and he performed as the opening act for his brother Nick’s music group Backstreet Boys earlier that year. His fifth and final studio album, “Love,” was released in 2018. Aaron was also known for his roles on television shows such as “Lizzie McGuire” on Disney Channel and “7th Heaven,” which debuted on The WB Television Network. He also appeared on his family’s reality series on E! Entertaiment Television, “House of Carters.” Aaron lived a troubled and controversial life under extreme public scrutiny. The Carter brothers are first cousins six times removed from Gilbert Belnap. Descendants of Gilbert Belnap are connected to the Carter brothers through Gilbert’s paternal grandparents, Jesse Belnap (1760-1854) and Eunice Hall (1762-1849), through their daughter (Gilbert’s aunt) Eunice Belnap (1784-1822), who married Buel Phillips (1780-1866).
