Starting with Gilbert Belnap himself, who served as Presiding Elder, Bishop, and Seventy, descendants of Gilbert and his wives Adaline Knight and Henrietta McBride have served in numerous leadership capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Martha McBride Knight Smith Kimball, mother of Adaline Knight and aunt of Henrietta McBride, was a founding member of the Relief Society and was also sealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., and early Church apostle Heber C. Kimball.
