Hyrum Belnap-Anna C. Bluth Family Record

Available here is the “Record of the Hyrum Belnap and Anna Contantcia Bluth Family as Kept by Anna Constantcia Bluth-Belnap.”  The original record, of which the first page is reported missing, is 79 pages long and was written primarily by Anna C. Bluth Belnap, plural second wife of Hyrum Belnap (1858-1938).  The original record, as of 1953, was in the possession of H. Earl Belnap, son of Hyrum and Anna.

Materials found in this family record include personal stories, poems, patriarchal blessings, birth and marriage information, a record of Hyrum’s second anointings, and an account of Anna’s life, including how she and Hyrum were married polygamously.

A typescript of this family record was prepared by Hyrum and Anna’s son, Arias Guy Belnap, from a photostatic negative copy of the original, and was finished on 17 Jun 1953.  A new typescript was prepared from the 1953 version by Joy M. Belnap in December 2007 (minus an index).  Links to both typescripts are included here.

Page numbers in the typescript versions refer to pages in the original handwritten record.  (Page numbers listed below for the 1953 typescript refer to the typed pages.)  The scanned version here was copied from Arias G. Belnap’s personal copy. Subsequent marginal notations in pencil or pen are in the handwriting of Arias.

Please note that the individual scanned pages from the 1953 version are large and might require some time to download.
